Inside Southeastern Football with Frank Scelfo debuts August 30; Dunlap and Kelley named to national watch lists
HAMMOND, Louisiana – The 2021 season of Inside Southeastern Football with Franck Scelfo will debut Monday, August 30 at 7 p.m. at Pour House Pizza and Beer Garden in downtown Hammond.
The hour-long show, hosted by fourth-year Lion head coach Scelfo and Allen Waddell, will air for the second season on For House (505 W. Thomas Street). It can be heard on the Southeastern Sports Radio network (KSLU 90.9 FM, Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM and The Boss 103.7 FM / 1400 AM), online at www.LionSports.net/listenlive or via TuneIn Radio and Lions Game Daytime experience apps.
The show will be heard weekly on Mondays throughout the season. The only exception will be the second week of the show. Due to Labor Day, this week’s show will air Tuesday, September 7 at 7 p.m. ET.
A pair of Southeastern Lions were also named on a pair of national watch lists on Monday.
Second year bettor Austin Dunlap is one of 20 student-athletes on the preseason watchlist for the FCS Punter of the Year award.
Dunlap, an All-Southland Conference first-team selection and the league’s only representative on the list, averaged 43.7 yards per punt in the spring. His average was the eighth highest in the country.
senior quarterback SLU Cole kelley, the reigning Walter Payton Award winner, is one of 44 student-athletes listed by College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) on the preseason watchlist for 2021 CFPA FCS National Performer of the Year.
Kelley, who threw for 2,662 yards and scored 27 touchdowns last spring, is one of five Southland Conference reps on the roster, along with wide receiver Nicholls Dai’Jean Dixon, running back from the ‘Northwest State Scooter Adams, as well as pair of UIW running back Kevin Brown and quarterback Cameron Ward.
Southeastern returns to the training ground Tuesday at 3:50 p.m. The No. 15/17 Lions open the 2021 season at home, hosting North Alabama at 6 p.m. at Strawberry Stadium on September 4.
