Com. College’s Dr. Paul Illich Receives Prestigious Award

Lincoln, NE (July 26, 2022) – Southeast Community College President Dr. Paul Illich is the recipient of the 2022 Western Region CEO Leadership Award from the Association of Community College Trustees.

“I am humbled and humbled to receive this award,” Illich said. “I would like to thank CSC’s Board of Trustees, faculty and staff for all they have done to help CSC carry out its many transformational initiatives with tireless passion and dedication to the role lifeblood of the community college.”

The award will be presented at the ACCT’s 53rd Annual Leadership Conference, October 26-29 in New York City. As the recipient of the regional award, Illich will be the sole nominee from the West region for the Marie Y. Martin CEO Award which will be presented at the annual awards gala on October 28.

“I feel very fortunate to have this tremendous opportunity to work at CSC as we continue to pursue our mission to empower and transform the diverse learners and communities of Southeast Nebraska through accessible educational opportunities throughout of life,” Illich added.

During his eight years as President of SCC, he led multiple transformation initiatives, including delivering nearly $170 million in renovation and construction projects, converting from a quarterly schedule to a semi-annual schedule , removing accreditation oversight for the first time in the College’s history and implementing its first strategic plan.
