IHIT was called after the macabre discovery of a body in a local parking lot.

The identity of the victim is not known at the moment

ABBOTSFORD (NEWS 1130) – The Integrated Homicide Team (IHIT) is investigating the discovery of a body found early Monday morning in a parking lot in Abbotsford.

Police found the body just after 5 a.m. in Clearbrook Park, just off Clinton Avenue.

The IHIT says investigators do not yet know the identity of the victim or the cause of death. They have also not yet determined a possible motive, although a criminal act is suspected.

A strong police presence will remain at the scene on Monday, with patrol officers from the Abbotsford Police Department, major crime detectives and the Forensic Identification Unit in the area.
