ARC introduces World Cup Radio Spectrum Monitoring Network

The Communications Regulatory Authority (ARC) participated in the Global Spectrum Management Forum 2022 hosted by the Central Radio Management Service (CRMS) of the Ministry of Science and ICT in Seoul, South Korea, from 6 to September 7. The forum brought together a large number of radio spectrum managers from around the world as well as many experts from various international organizations and other stakeholders in the field of radio spectrum monitoring. During its participation in the forum, CRA presented the radio spectrum monitoring network, which has been prepared for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which will be held in November and December. ARC explained its preparations and willingness to monitor the radio spectrum through the strategic projects that have been implemented over the past few years. He also provided a summary of the most important systems that will be used during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, in addition to the planning considerations that have been made to complement the radio spectrum monitoring network with state-of-the-art technologies. to monitor.
This will ensure the protection of all services, systems and networks that will be used in World Cup stadiums close to each other, as this is the first such experience in the history of hosting the World Cup from the radio. spectrum management and monitoring perspective. CRA has implemented several projects related to radio spectrum management and monitoring, in preparation for major and special events that will be hosted by Qatar. These include upgrading the automated frequency management system, increasing fixed and mobile monitoring stations and radio spectrum sensor monitoring stations to cover all major tournament venues, in addition of the drone detection system and the quality of service. mobile network measurement system by upgrading the existing system and installing several remote sensor units in the main venues of the prestigious event.
CRA is also executing a space radio surveillance system project which will be completed in November and will be used during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
