7 Mountains Media hosts its annual radiothon fundraiser with the Children’s Miracle Network in the South End

ELMIRA, NY (WETM) – The 7 Mountains Media Radio Cluster and Children’s Miracle Network kick off their radiothon fundraiser on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Thursday, March 10, 2022, from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. .

“A lot of work is being done as we prepare for the Children’s Miracle Network radiothon. We spent many days planning this two day event. We meet families interviewing families that you will all meet during the radiothon,” said Scott Free, Scott and Ally Morning Show, Wink 106.

During this radiothon, you’ll hear stories about what it took for residents to bring their babies home from the neonatal intensive care unit with covid-19 restrictions in place.

“These are families who have spent many times with their children at Nic-U,” Free said.

Every year, Ally Payne of the morning show Scott and Ally has shared that there are a lot of emotions in parents that bring her to tears as she takes part in the annual radiothon.

“There are a lot of conversations between them with God with grandparents, doctors, nurses and they will do anything to save their child,” said Ally Payne, Scott and Ally Morning Show.

Radiothon fundraising has been a great help to the community for over 20 years and continues to grow.

“Last year was our best year yet. We raised over $105,000 in a day and a half. We hope to meet that goal and surpass it this year,” said Alene Goodman, Program Director, Children’s Miracle Network.

When you donate to the Children’s Miracle Network, no child has ever refused, regardless of their parents’ ability to pay.

“This is one of those cases where we can step in and help,” Payne said.

Donations are starting to arrive for the 7 Mountains Media Radiothon Charity Event. To become a local hero, text “Kids” to 71231 to start this year’s radiothon and make a difference.
